Caitlin Clark and Napheesa Collier will lead two squads into battle when the WNBA All-Star Game is staged in Indianapolis.

Fan votes for the 2025 exhibition yielded Caitlin Clark (Indiana) and Napheesa Collier (Minnesota) as the game’s captains and de facto general managers. The two standouts will assemble their squads in a draft format through a pool of eight additional starters and later a dozen reserves, chosen by WNBA head coaches over the next few weeks, leading up to the main event on July 19.

Despite several injury interruptions, it’s hardly a surprise to see Clark take the popular vote. Per WNBA polling data, Clark earned 1,293,526 tallies to serve as the captain for the 21st edition of the semi-annual showcase, which will be held at the point guard’s professional dwelling of Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. This is the first time that the home of the Indiana Fever has hosted the event, and fans quickly vindicated the decision by forcing a sellout within hours.

Clark, who has missed each of the Fever’s last two games with a groin injury, is averaging 18.2 points and 8.9 rebounds in nine appearances so far this season.

Right behind Clark was Collier, who earned 1,176,020 fan votes to keep her 2025 momentum rolling. This eventful year has seen Collier introduce Unrivaled, the domestic offseason three-on-three league co-founded alongside WNBA Finals foe Breanna Stewart (New York), and take over the WNBA scoring lead at 24.4 points per game, nearly three full tallies ahead of A’ja Wilson (Las Vegas).

Clashes between Clark and Collier-led teams are turning into mainstays on the 2025 WNBA calendar: Indiana and Minnesota are set to play for in-season glory on Tuesday when the Lynx host the 2025 Commissioner’s Cup Final at Target Center (8 p.m. ET, Amazon Prime Video).

Clark and Collier’s first batch of teammates will be unveiled on Monday as the other eight starters will be revealed during ESPN’s NBA free agency preview (7 p.m. ET, ESPN).

This All-Star Game will be the fifth played under a “fantasy draft” format and the first without either Stewart (New York) or Wilson as captains since the concept was first introduced in Minneapolis in 2018, when Candace Parker’s group bested another paced by Elena Delle Donne.
