Antonio Brown is in the spotlight again, and this time, he’s taken a shocking swipe at WNBA star Caitlin Clark. On Saturday, August 2, the former NFL wide receiver posted a strange and offensive tweet while the WNBA is dealing with an ongoing s*x toy problem during games.

Brown shared a photoshopped image of Caitlin Clark on X (formerly Twitter). In the edited picture, her T-shirt had a fake slogan that read: “Pay us in green floppy d**dos.” His post mocked the WNBA’s ongoing fight for fair pay and came just days after two separate sex toys were thrown on the court during WNBA games.

The first incident happened on Tuesday, July 30, during a game between the Atlanta Dream and the Golden State Valkyries in College Park, Georgia. A green sex toy landed on the court in the final minute. Just days later, another one was tossed under the basket during the Valkyries vs. Chicago Sky game, pausing the match in the third quarter.Antonio Brown’s post came just two weeks later, mocking that slogan with his NSFW version. Fans online slammed Antonio Brown for turning a serious issue into a joke.

Caitlin Clark, All-Star shirts and Antonio Brown’s timing stir backlash

Caitlin Clark, one of the biggest names in women’s basketball, recently made headlines during the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game. On July 20, players from Team Caitlin Clark and Team Napheesa Collier wore black warm-up shirts saying: “Pay Us What You Owe Us.” The message came right after over 40 WNBA players walked out of contract talks with league officials, calling it a “wasted opportunity.”

Meanwhile, the WNBA is growing fast. In 2024, the league signed a massive 11-year, $2.2 billion TV deal and has seen a 500% jump in merchandise sales. Yet, players still make much less than their NBA counterparts. Caitlin Clark, for example, earns just $78,000 a year, while NBA players make an average of $13 million.Antonio Brown is no longer in the U.S.

He is currently in the United Arab Emirates. The 36-year-old left the country after a May 17 incident in Miami, Florida. Police say he chased a man with a gun and fired two shots outside a celebrity boxing event. He is facing an attempted murder charge, and a warrant is out for his arrest. Antonio Brown is also going through a bankruptcy case and reportedly owes over $3.5 million.
